Day 1-3

The adventure begins in Boston

The flight from Germany takes you to the unforgettable city of Boston.

Explore the city individually according to your wishes. We recommend two nights at the Holiday Inn Boston Bunker Hill.

If you are an art lover, why not pay a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum or the Institute of Contemporary Art.

The African American History Museum is also a cultural highlight. It is the largest museum of its kind in New England.

Of course, you can also walk the 4 km long Freedom Trail, which connects the sixteen historical sights.

Boston is not called the most pedestrian-friendly city in the USA for nothing.

If you’d rather watch the hustle and bustle of the city, then the Theater District or Newbury Street is the place for you. Here you will find galleries, street cafés and boutiques.

Of course, a visit to Cambridge with the MIT or Harvard University is a must.

Rental car hint

Before continuing your trip after 2 days of touring the city, you should pick up your rental car at Boston Airport, for example.

ABC recommendation: The driver will need a valid credit card to pick up the rental car. This will be required on site for the deposit. It is possible to rent a car from the age of 21, and there is usually a young driver surcharge up to the age of 30.

Day 4

Off to North Conway

On your way to Canada, you shouldn’t miss the breathtaking nature of New Hampshire.

North Conway is a popular place for short breaks, for which we can recommend an overnight stay at Fox Ridge Resort. The resort is located on the edge of the picturesque White Mountains and Mount Washington. On your way, you will pass highlights such as Diana’s Bath or the Albany Covered Bridge. Near the accommodation, you can stop off at Conway Lake. A popular fishing lake for perch.

If you feel like stretching your legs after the drive, make a short stop at Echo Lake State Park.

Our insider tip: a hike to Cathedral Ledge. Here you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view.

We can also recommend the Conway Scenic Railroad. Different routes can be booked here at different prices.

The next day is your onward journey to Canada.
Tip: You don’t need a visa to enter Canada by land from the USA
Several short breaks in between work wonders. Unexpected stops, for example for a snack or a coffee, may also allow you to talk to the locals and get to know the culture of the USA/Canada better.

Day 5-6

Arrival in Quebec

With your arrival in Quebec, you have completed the first long journey and can now get to know the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We recommend 2 nights in the C3 – Hotel art de vivre.

For example, visit the most photographed hotel in the world and also the landmark of Quebec – the Hotel Chateau Frontenac. Tip: Overnight stays are also possible in this hotel, just ask us.

The Dufferin Terrace leads past the famous landmark and also offers a sensational view over the St. Lawrence River.

Did you know that Quebec is the only walled city north of Mexico? Impressive, isn’t it?

Day 7

Montreal is calling

After two days, it’s off to the next stop in Canada. In just 2.5 hours you will be in Montreal by car. A large and exciting city awaits you here, just waiting to be explored. In Montreal, for example, you can stay overnight at the Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown. One night should be enough for your tour.

Montreal is the second largest French-speaking city in the world, so you can get a little closer to France far away from Europe. Take a stroll through the city and sample some French cuisine at one or two pastry shops.

Day 8

and on to Ottawa

The next stage of the trip is Ottawa – the capital of Canada.

Despite this, it has a very rural flair. Lush green spaces and charming cycle paths invite you to relax.

After a breather, you can take a look at the breathtaking parliament building enthroned on Parliament Hill. Right next door is the Rideau Canal.

In winter, the canal becomes one of the largest ice skating rinks in the world.

If you’ve already had enough of the hustle and bustle of the city, you can explore Ottawa’s surroundings. In addition to numerous water attractions such as a water park, rafting and countless boat tours, you can also visit Stanley Farm.

Day 9 & 10

The very next day, we continue towards Toronto – the largest city in Canada. We recommend 2 nights in the city, for example at the Novotel Toronto North York. Toronto is a vibrant city and invites you to linger and marvel. Visit the CN Tower, Kensington Market or the Distillery Historic District. Of course, sports fans will also get their money’s worth with ice hockey

Niagara Falls

The round trip entices with countless program points. On the contrary, the next day has a real highlight in store for you – the Niagara Falls.

To avoid experiencing this spectacle like a hectic tourist, we recommend spending a night at Niagara Falls (Radisson Hotel & Suites)

This will give you more time to explore the waterfalls from different perspectives (land, boat, foot, air).

Day 11

The last lengthy journey…

takes you back to the USA. It will take you to Lancaster.

Here you will find The Amish Village. Get to know the old traditions without modern technology.

If you are traveling as a family, you can of course also visit Hersheypark with Hershey’s Chocolate World. Chocolate lovers will get their money’s worth here.

If the longer drive puts you off, why not make a stop in the Pocono Mountains? An absolute dream for nature and outdoor fans. There are countless hiking and cycling routes. In winter, the Pocono Mountains are a popular skiing and snowboarding area.

After a short rest in Lancaster at the Comfort Suites Amish Country, the journey continues to Washington D.C.

Day 12 & 13

Washington D.C.

In Washington D.C. you will not only find the White House, but also many art and cultural treasures: For example, museums for research and educational institutions, the National Air & Space Museum, Museum of American History, the American Art Museum and much more.

To explore the city without stress, we recommend spending 2 nights here.

The best way to explore the city is by bike, subway, Segway or bus.

Day 14

Philadelphia

We are now slowly coming to the end of our round trip. But before heading to the vibrant city of New York, we’ll make a detour to Philadelphia.

Visit the historic Liberty Bell or Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence, the American Constitution, was once written, discussed and signed.

For all those who have booked an extension in New York, we wish you a great conclusion to your trip.
